Book 1 of The Gamble Brothers Series
Madison Daniels has worshiped her brother's best friend since they were kids. Everyone thinks she and Chase Gamble would make the perfect couple, but there are two major flaws in their logic.
1) Chase has sworn off relationships of any kind and 2) after blurring the line between friends and lovers for one night four years ago, they can't stop bickering.
Forced together for her brother's wedding getaway, Chase and Madison decide to call a truce for the happy couple. Except all bets are off when they're forced to shack up in a tacky '70s honeymoon suite and survive a multitude of "accidents" as the family tries to prove their "spark" can be used for more than fighting. That is, if they don't strangle each other first...

Steamy #ContemporaryRomance Sweet
Tempting the Best Man by Jennifer Armentrout is the first book in the Gamble Brothers series, and centers around Madison and Chase, who grew up together. Chase is her brothers best friend. She's been in love with him since she noticed boys. After an encounter that leaves her heartbroken in college, Maddie and Chase avoid each other ... until her brothers wedding that is. The best man is tempted by the beautiful and intelligent Maid of Honor in this short, sweet, and sexy read.
Tempting the Best Man is cute. Honestly though, it's about as "tropey" as they come. I mean, after reading Jennifer's other works, I've been ruined for regular, run of the mill romance. haha. So cute is the word I come up with. It's your classic little sister loves brothers best friend, best friend doesn't think he is good enough for girl romance. It's predictable, but enjoyable. Sex is good if you are into a steamy read (which, YES!)
One of the things that made me just like this book, not love, is the lukewarm feelings I had towards Chase and Maddie. I liked them. I wanted them together. There just wasn't any intensity to it. Not what I am used to from Jennifer Armentrout's other couples, that is for sure.
Would I read this again? No. It wasn't bad by any means. Its a quick little spicy romance. Its just not on par with her other work, which are some the best books I have read. Will I continue with the series ... of course. It's Jennifer! <3
Maddie: "Dad, I'm fine. I blew a tire about ten miles out."
Dad: "You did what?"
Maddie: "I blew a tire."
Dad: "You blew what?"
Madison rolled her eyes
Maddie: "I blew a tire."
Dad: "Wait. I can't hear you. Guys, can you keep it down? Maddie's on the phone and she blew something."
The room erupted in male laughter
Oh. My. Freaking. God.
Chase: "Their names are Lucy and Lake."
Maddie: "Who names their kid Lake? Oh! If you have kids, you can call them River and Stream."
Mitch: "Oh, man, you two are not going to make it to the wedding. No way."
Madison sighed
Mom: "Why? They'll do just fine."
Mitch: "They'll kill each other. They might actually kill each other."
Maddie: "We aren't going to kill each other."
Chase: "I wouldn't make that promise."
Chad: "Did you shave your boys?"
Mitch: "What?"
Mitch laughed
Chad: "Shave the boys? The ladies love it when they're all smooth."
Mitch: "I really don't want to talk about my balls with you. Not now. Not ever."
Chase: "You're going to turn those kids that don't exist yet into nerds."
She held up her finger, placing it an inch from his face, and he had an urge to lick it.
Maddie: "Nerds are cool. You are not."
Chase: "Tell me. Does it seem like I'm to attracted to you?"
Maddie: "I'm ... I'm starting to get the picture. It's a pretty big picture."
Chandler: "Ah, there you are. I'm guessing the little shadow behind you is Madison? We've been looking everywhere for you two."
Chase: "Well, we've been here the whole time. Locked in. Took long enough."
Chandler snickered
Chandler: "For some reason, I have the exact opposite impression."
Mitch: "At least you had Chase to keep you company. Couldn't have been that bad and hey, you didn't kill each other."
Madison stiffened
Strolling past her, Chandler glanced over his shoulder and winked before adding
Chandler: "Which makes one wonder what they did do to each other."
Maddie: "He'll never see himself as anything different, and he'll never see me as anything other than Mitch's sister."
Mom: "No, my dear, he already sees you as something other than Mitch's sister. He just doesn't realize it yet."
Chase: "I've seen you naked before, Maddie."
Maddie: "You have no seen me completely naked, thank you very much."
His eyes glittered
Chase: "Actually, once before I have, when you were like five. You ran through the house buck ass naked when you had chicken pox."
Maddie: "Oh, dear God, why do you remember these things?
Chase: "It was kind of traumatizing."
Maddie: "Yeah, well, this is traumatizing, so we're even."
Chase: "Let me ask you a question. If we had a sister, how would you feel is one of our friends was snooping under her skirt?"
Chad: "That's a bad example. Our friends suck."
Chase snorted
Chase: "That night - I should've told you how I really felt. And every night thereafter. I should've told you how I felt the night in that damn cabin, too."
Maddie: "And how to you feel?"
Chase: "Aw, hell, Maddie, I'm not good at this kind of stuff. You ... you are my world. You've always been my world, ever since I can remember. "
At Bridget's soft inhale, Madison placed a trembling hand over her mouth.
Chase: "It's the truth. You are my everything. I love you. I have for longer than I realized. Please tell me my boneheadedness hasn't screwed things up beyond repair for us."
